Its chocolate aromas and generous crema are the hallmarks of this Brasilian specialty coffee.
This specialty coffee is produced by Lucia Maria da Silva Dias near the southern state of Minas Gerais. The coffee grown here loves the relative coolness of the nighttime temperatures and the plentiful sunshine the day brings. Some of the area’s best coffees call this highly respected region home.
The farm, created in the early 20 th century (1907), is still in the hands of its forefathers. For decades, it has thrived on the philosophy of mainly producing micro lots which generate approximately 5,500 bags per year. Quality coffee abounds with this system, making it one of the region’s top producers of specialty coffee.
When Lucia Maria took over the business, she completely changed the managerial methods, implementing more modern and democratic practices. The professional relationship with her employees became comprehensive through instructional courses that range from financial responsibility to personal training.
