Regardless of your level of experience in the world of coffee, whether you're poor in maths, always in a hurry, a citizen of the world or an astronaut, the AeroPress is simple to use. Alan Adler, a US engineer with 40 patents to his name, made coffee brewing easy by inventing one of the smartest manual coffee makers. Specialty coffee enthusiasts have even dedicated a championship to it!
Alan Adler took the concept of the popular and affordable electric coffee maker and applied it to a manual coffee maker. By doing so, he revived the concept of the measuring spoon. Instead of weighing your coffee, all you have to do is fill the included AeroPress measuring spoon until it's heaping and well-rounded. To help you figure out how much water to pour, he printed the graduated number of cups on the tube. The downside is that you won't be able to make more than 4 cups at a time, but repeating the process only takes a minute ...
Use the fast lane to prepare your coffee with the AeroPress! No need to wait for it to brew to extract your coffee. When you pour the water into the tube, it totally covers the coffee. A few seconds are enough for the grounds to soak up water and release its aroma. You might think the coffee that comes out would be bland and tasteless, yet it's delicious and aromatic.

The AeroPress is a compact 28cm tall, so it’s effortless to store: in a kitchenette, sports bag, backpack or suitcase. Its tubular shape can handle any journey, even the longest and most rugged (and maybe even space flights soon!). Like other manual coffee makers, the AeroPress works without electricity. Useful if you get stranded on a desert island, right?
Taking your electric coffee maker or Chemex on a road trip can be cumbersome. More compact than the original, the AeroPress Go fits easily in a trekking backpack or bicycle bag. A simple water source suffices to satisfy your hankering for a coffee. There's even a built-in mug, handy when travelling solo!
With the AEROPRESS, you can travel without leaving your home. In a flash, you’ll picture yourself on your terrace in California with the Americano, live the dolce vita in your hammock with the espresso, be on a barstool in a London coffee shop with the Latte or lounge on the edge of your pool in Miami Beach with the Cold Brew.

When we first stuck our noses in the world of specialty coffee, everyone on the team started with the AeroPress. Besides being simple to use, its rapid filtration system gives you a clean cup, a coffee without bitterness and acidity, which brings out its aromatic profile as much as possible. Especially when tasting new specialty coffees, we like to recognise all the aromas offered by the roaster on the package.
“I love that the AeroPress is easy to use if you're new to brewing specialty coffee. The process is very forgiving and the result in cup is excellent. And the plus? It's easy to clean and I can take with me anywhere. There are so many creative recipes that I'd love to try out with the AeroPress. The AeroPress is undoubtedly an excellent tool for travelling the world of coffee.”, Emi Fukahori, Roaster and Co-founder of Mame Coffee
“For novice hobbyists, the AeroPress makes it painless to delve into the world of specialty coffee with little investment. The blooming connoisseur can therefore concentrate on buying coffees and not equipment. The basic recipes are straightforward, and the choice of grind is not as critical as with other methods. The result is filter coffee, but without the need for any elaborate equipment. The quality of the cup depends on the recipe, but the ease of use and the multitude of recipes available mean you can practise, improve and find something to suit any coffee lover.”, Ennio, certified CSA instructor (Community of specialty coffees)
Supported by the Specialty Coffee Community (SCA), the AeroPress World Championships (AWC) invites selected challengers from 60 different countries to brew the best cup of coffee with the AeroPress. CoffeeAvenue continually strives to introduce specialty coffee to a wide audience, so it logistically and economically supports the Swiss AeroPress Championships by being the main sponsor.
More and more amateurs are trying their hand at the championship, but before jumping into competition, it's best to get some expert advice.
If you are looking for a manual coffee maker that’ll take your taste buds to the moon and back, turn to the AeroPress. What we love above all is to taste the coffee and to add the amount of water we wish according to the roaster's recommendations. We use the coffee adapted to the preparation (espresso, milk recipe, American coffee and cold brew), and often the recommended extraction method is specified on the packaging. If you want your recipe to turn out great, ask your roaster for a specialty coffee designed for the AeroPress.
